Astop – Rental Showcase Heaven in Akihabara
Located on the 4th floor of the AKIBA CULTURES ZONE building in Akihabara, Astop is one of the largest rental showcase stores in the area.
It’s packed with awesome figures, trading cards, idol merchandise, and more—items that collectors and fans proudly put up for sale.
Opened in 2011, Astop now has over 900 individual showcases, making it a true treasure trove for anime, game, and pop culture lovers.
You’ll find everything from classics like Dragon Ball and One Piece to popular series like Love Live!, Kantai Collection, Touken Ranbu, and even sports anime like Haikyuu!!.
There’s also a wide selection of idol photos, tokusatsu (special effects) figures, and rare movie goods.
Here’s how it works: individual sellers rent a case and display their items, and you can browse them all in person.
When you find something you like, just fill out a small purchase slip with the case and item number, hand it to the staff, and they’ll unlock the case and take care of the checkout.
You can check the condition of the item before buying, which makes it way more reliable than online auctions.
It’s about a 5-minute walk from JR Akihabara Station, and the shop’s open every day from 11:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
